The exhibition highlights Québec City’s predominant role as an art capital from the colony’s origins to the late 19th century. The showing focuses on the British period (1763-1867) and the pieces selected feature religious and secular paintings and sculptures, works on paper and decorative art objects from our collection. All of the major artists and main movements that marked Québec art history over these 250 years are represented.
