Les Sédentaires clandestinsThis sculpture projects its sounds and shadows throughout the exhibition gallery. Using turntables, obsolete objects in the eyes of a culture of change and innovation, this work is based on the circular motion of mechanisms. Turning round and round may be anxiety-provoking (for adults) or amusing (for children). Comprised of unusual but surprisingly familiar objects that produce squeaky noises and bizarre images, Les Sédentaires clandestins emerges from a cityscape that has been miniaturized and set in motion.
