La Fête-Dieu à QuébecCelebrated in the streets of Québec City, the Corpus Christi procession drew a crowd, which looked on and bowed before the arrival of the religious parade. The S-shaped route allows the viewer to recognize some of the city’s architectural elements, including the Citadel and Château Frontenac. The painter added some amusing details to his composition, painting himself as a tavern keeper, writing the names of his friends on signs and the walls of buildings and adding a young boy urinating against a tree in the park.
