Le Pont de glace à QuébecOn cold winter mornings like the one depicted here, the residents of Québec’s south shore crossed the St. Lawrence to sell their wares in Québec City. At the time, the River was covered by a thick layer of ice on which people travelled back and forth by packing down the snow.
