Pêcheur à la nigogue is the work of major Québec sculptor Louis-Philippe Hébert and dates from 1916.
Based on a term borrowed from the First Nations, a “nigogue” is a tool with a long handle, a point and two articulated jaws to hold the harpooned fish. |
