Cast in bronze in 1987, Femme accroupie, was first produced in stone by Québec artist Charles Daudelin in 1947 using a sculpture by Henri Laurens for the composition and the esthetics of Picasso. The pure volumes are placed to create a harmonious balance between volume and void. This crouching woman, who seems to emerge from a world of plants, is fascinating for her strangeness and sensuality.
